Kinesiology tape can be used to help decrease pain, to decrease swelling after an injury, and to facilitate and reinforce correct posture. It can be used as a stand-alone therapy, but the best results are seen when used in conjunction with other therapies.
What to Expect
Depending on the purpose of its application, anywhere from 2-4 strips of tape will be placed on the body part. The skin will be cleaned prior to application. If you are worried about hair being pulled on the arms or legs, consider trimming (not shaving) the area before you arrive. The tape can be left on the skin for 3-5 days and can be worn in the shower.
Session Options
Add-On Option: Choose kinesiology taping as an add-on to the end of your appointment. This can be done during booking or at your appointment. It adds about 10 minutes to your appointment.
Stand-Alone Option: If taping is all you want, choose this option. This session should last around 20 minutes.
What to Wear
Active wear is preferable for all therapy sessions. As tape needs to go beneath clothing, please dress appropriately. Sports bras or swim tops/bottoms are ideal if outer layers need to be removed.
